175th Anniversary Homecoming Service

175th Anniversary

God gave our founders a vision to plant Fellowship Baptist Church in 1850. Life was hard and their labors were difficult, but our first members faithfully met together on the Lord’s Day to worship God, hear the preaching of His Word, and love each other as brothers and sisters in Christ. Successive generations would face hardships such as drought, disease, wars, recessions and a Great Depression. Through it all, God has preserved a remnant of the faithful to worship and serve Him in this community for 175 years.

Through those years we’ve experienced joys and sorrows, laughter and tears. We’ve rejoiced as sinners came to the Lord in repentance for salvation and mourned as those same saints left us to spend eternity with Him. Families have moved in and out of our church and community, cars and trucks have replaced mules and wagons in the parking lot, and the original “church house” erected on this property has long since faded from living memory. Though our church, our community, and the world around us has changed so much over the past 175 years, God’s love and faithfulness towards us remains the same.

By His power and for His glory, God still has plans for Fellowship Baptist Church. He has given us a fresh vision to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ through the preaching of the Word and intentional relationships that equip families to love our community. In short, we are a church on mission to exalt Christ, equip families, and embrace our community.

We invite you to join us on Sunday, March 2, 2025 as we gather to worship God and thank Him for the faithful witness of so many who have been a part of our church family over these past 175 years. We want to extend a special invitation to anyone who has ever been part of our church family to come and celebrate with us… you are part of our story! The worship service will begin at 11am and will include congregational singing, prayer, the reading of scripture, and the preaching of God’s Word. A fellowship lunch will follow the service. Visit our Facebook page to RSVP or see which old friends and family members are attending.

We will share more details about our 175th Anniversary Homecoming Service over our social media channels in the days leading up to March 2. We hope you will join with us!
