Members of Fellowship Baptist Church voted unanimously to call Brent Morrison to the office of deacon following the worship service on Sunday, February 9, 2025. Pastor Robbie Bradford and our deacon body nominated him for the position after a process of prayerful consideration and examination of his and his wife’s testimony, biblical qualifications, doctrinal convictions, and service within our church. His election gives Fellowship a full complement of seven active deacons for the first time since the passing of Bro. Paul Perkins in 2021. A special service of ordination is being planned and will be announced soon.
“I would like to express my deepest gratitude in being voted into this position,” said Bro. Brent. “I’m humbled by my church family’s support, and I look forward to continuing to serve and help our church grow and meet future needs.”
“The deacons are the backbone of our church and a protective covering over me,” stated Pastor Robbie Bradford. “They are my accountability group and help keep me where I need to be spiritually. I am so excited to add Brent to the group!”
The Morrisons joined Fellowship Baptist Church in 2015 and have been active in a number of ministries ever since. Bro. Brent is a former member of our nominations committee and most recent pastor search committee, serves on our usher and security teams, and currently leads our youth Sunday School class. His wife, Wendy, is also involved in student ministry and leads our worship team. The couple have two teenage children, Austin and Bella, who mirror their parents’ faithful commitment to Christ and to serve within the church.
