Gilmer Licensed to Preach

Linton Gilmer receives Certificate of License

Fellowship Baptist Church formally presented Linton Gilmer with a Certificate of License during its worship service on May 21. He shared a message on the Great Commission entitled “Go Into All the World” when given the opportunity to preach during Fellowship’s worship service on April 16. The decision to license Gilmer to preach was made the next Sunday following a time of prayer and conversation between he and our pastors and deacons.

The certificate reads:

This is to certify Linton Gilmer who has given evidence that God has called him into the Gospel Ministry was Licensed to preach the Gospel as he may have opportunity, an to exercise his gifts in the work of the Ministry

Linton has previously prepared and led several messages during The Inn Crowd’s Wednesday evening services under the guidance of youth pastor Robbie Bradford. He has served as speaker during the church’s monthly Men’s Brotherhood meeting, preached a Sunday evening message at Mt. Harmony FWBC, and has regularly led the morning prayer and FCA devotionals at Lamar County High School within the past year.

Linton is the son of Will and Joni Gilmer of Vernon and is a rising senior at LCHS. He serves as Student Council president and is active in sports, FCA, National Honor Society, and Beta Club.
