Fellowship Baptist Church was honored to host a meal for the LCHS Varsity and JV Volleyball teams this Tuesday on the eve of the 2025 Area Tournament. Members of the church’s hostess and youth committees prepared a “potato bar” for the girls, complete with baked potatoes, barbecue, toppings, and desserts. Pastor Robbie Bradford illustrated the difference between talent and leadership by contrasting the responses of Saul and David to Goliath’s challenge. He encouraged the young athletes to display leadership both on and off the court and to share the Gospel with those they love.
“Thanks so much to Fellowship Baptist Church for feeding our volleyball girls tonight,” said head coach Kayla Barnes. “The meal and message were an awesome way to show support for our girls before they play in the area tournament tomorrow!”
“I love being part of a church that supports its students and the activities they are involved in,” added team scorekeeper Jillian Gilmer. “Tonight was a great opportunity for me, Arlee (Barnes), Bella (Morrison), and Dusty (Brock) to share our church’s love with our teammates.”
The LCHS Varsity Volleyball Team opens the Area Tournament against Red Bay at Sulligent High School gymnasium at 1:30pm on Wednesday, October 15. Go support our Bulldogs and then join us for Midweek Ministries at 6:30pm.
